WOODZ’s ‘ Archive 1 ‘ has fans DROWNING in sweet vocals

Singapore, 2026 – WOODZ – otherwise known as Cho Seungyoun – is no stranger to the stage: from his run as the main rapper in UNIQ, to debuting as a soloist under the name Luizy, to earning a place in the explosively popular survival group X1 (which had far too short a run together). And so, it felt like just a matter of time before he stepped on stage in Singapore too… that day has finally arrived, with the Singapore stop on his 2026 WOODZ WORLD TOUR ‘Archive. 1’ on 2 April.

From the very first note of ‘Bloodline’, the opening song of the concert, WOODZ delivers an electrifying setlist that has the entire audience cheering. Indeed, as the lyric “I do whatever I like” goes—delivered with the coolest of expressions—it seems that WOODZ can truly do whatever he likes, tackling any genre he chooses and doing it exceptionally well.

There’s a natural ease to WOODZ on stage. More than just his powerful performance, this is most evident when he interacts with MOODZ (the name of his fandom) between sets. He makes a deliberate effort to understand what the crowd is saying, replying with an “I love you lah!” to a fan who shouts it from the audience; echoing a “Bagus!” with a huge thumbs-up; and even teasing MOODZ for cheering louder for his bassist, Yang Kyungah, than for him, quipping, “Did you come for me or for her?”

(The answer is clear, obviously.)

(That’s not to say the rest of his band doesn’t receive love as well—drummer Seo Juyoung, guitarist Kim Hoyun, and keyboardist Kim Dongmin each receive huge cheers from MOODZ when introduced in turn.)

What’s particularly impressive is how effortlessly he transitions between moods and emotions. The second set features groovy, head-bopping tracks like ‘Dayfly’, ‘NA NA NA’, and ‘Love Me Harder’. He pauses briefly to let MOODZ know to emotionally prepare themselves for something more sombre; then the stage lights turn blue, and his voice—plaintive and sincere—rings out with the opening line of ‘Glass’: “Deep in the night when I’m missing you the most.”

In this third set, the mood turns deeply emotional, with MOODZ hanging onto every note. Then, almost like a release, ‘Drowning’—one of the most popular songs on the setlist—begins, and the entire crowd sings along, pouring their hearts into the song just as WOODZ does on stage. It’s a beautifully bittersweet moment: rain pours down in the background, WOODZ stands backlit as a lone figure, and the scene is made even more powerful by the chorus of voices joining in.

The set concludes with another fan favourite, ‘Cinema’, with everyone still singing along. Building on this energy, WOODZ takes a short break to speak to the audience and asks MOODZ to sing ‘Cinema’ for him once more—a moment later shared as an Instagram reel.

Shifting from the melancholic mood, WOODZ transitions into a more mellow R&B set: ‘Plastic’, ‘BEEP’—where he moves seamlessly from smooth vocals to laid-back rap—‘Super Lazy’, and ‘00:30’.

This is when the biggest surprise of the night arrives. “I have a special gift for MOODZ,” he says, hinting that it’s related to his performance at last year’s Asia Artist Awards with an iconic singer from Singapore. He is then caught off guard when a MOODZ shouts out the song title before he finishes his hint, laughing, “Wait, how did you know?”

Showcasing both his musical and linguistic versatility, WOODZ launches into a cover of JJ Lin’s ‘Twilight’, much to the delight of the audience, before flowing into ‘To My January’. It’s a sweet, intimate moment, made even more special when he brings up the lyrics on screen and invites everyone to sing along once again.

However, there’s little time to linger in this contemplative mood, as the next set takes a high-energy turn. WOODZ declares, “I want to see all of you headbang together! But be careful—it might be hard on your neck.”

With that, he launches into the heart-pounding ‘Busted’ and ‘Human Extinction’, sending the crowd into a frenzy as they match his energy. This is followed by ‘Smashing Concrete’ and ‘Who Knows’, before WOODZ exits the stage for the first time.

To bring him back, MOODZ immediately break into another rendition of ‘Drowning’, laughing as they sing—united by their love for his music and performance.

Soon enough, WOODZ returns to the stage with ‘STOP THAT’, and the crowd surges with excitement. The night feels endless as the energy climbs with each encore song: ‘I Hate You’ and ‘BUMP BUMP’. Yet, despite the crowd’s valiant efforts to prolong the moment, the concert eventually draws to a close.

“But this is not the last time! I’ll come back,” WOODZ promises, assuring fans that he’ll return to Singapore with a new album and tour. It’s a promise that helps ease the sadness of the night ending.

As if determined to end on a powerful high, the final song on the setlist is ‘Stray’—a track that perfectly captures the intensity of the concert, and a fitting conclusion… until the next time WOODZ returns.
