Singapore BOICEs found their CNBLUENTITY with CNBLUE!

South Korea’s Pop-Rock band, CNBLUE, returned to our sunny shores after seven years and held their latest tour CNBLUE LIVE ‘CNBLUENTITY’ in Singapore Indoor Stadium on 27th April 2024.

Formed in 2012 by FNC Entertainment, the band consist of frontman on vocal and guitar, Jung Yonghwa, on drums, Kang Minhyuk and on bass, Lee Jungshin. CNBLUENTITY is the first tour the band is holding since 2017. The concert lasted a good three-and-a-half-hour without a dull moment as the band belt out one classic after another.

Tingling excitement could be felt the moment the lights at Singapore Indoor Stadium dimmed hinting the start of the show. BOICEs voice chanting CNBLUE thunder through the stadium while waiting for the band to appear on stage.

Opening the show with their iconic debut hit, ‘I’m a Loner’, CNBLUE and BOICEs harmonised as the crowd sang along to the lyrics word for word. The band then continued with ‘Love’, ‘Intuition’ and ‘Hey You’ before introducing themselves to the audience.

During the intermission, the trio addressed the audience while inserting Singlish like “I love you lah” and “I miss you lah” in their speeches. Not forgetting to mention their undying love for Singapore’s Chilli and Pepper Crab and how they went to eat it almost immediately after they landed. Frontman, Yonghwa questioned his band members if they are on ‘Team Chilli Crab’ or ‘Team Pepper Crab’ and after Jungshin and Minhyuk chose Pepper, he expressed that he is actually on both teams which ignited laughter from the audience.

The band continued the show with ‘Imagine’, ‘Love Light’, ‘You’re so fine’ and other hits. Singapore BOICEs prepared a surprise project and the stadium was filled with a sea of coloured lights. After the performance, Jungshin brought up that there is a dress code for their tour and asked if the audience were dressed in blue before proceeding to check on his bandmates. The crowd burst into laughter when he pointed out Yonghwa’s mic is blue before Yonghwa clarified that it’s actually purple.

Their next set consisted of ‘Love Cut’, ‘99%’, ‘Lady’ and ‘Coffee Shop’ before bringing fans down the memory lane with a melodious tone. The band serenated the crowd with ‘Time Capsule’, ‘Winter again’, ‘Till then’, ‘Hide and Seek’ and ‘Cinderella’.

Turning up the night, CNBLUE performed ‘In my head’, ‘I’m sorry’, ‘Radio’ and ‘Between Us’. Audience in the seated area stood up and jumped along to the beats. It was electrifying to be among the crowd as the show peaked.

The encore featured fans favourite ‘Young Forever’, ‘Can’t Stop’ and ‘Then, Now and Forever’ had the audience yearning for more and chanting encore again. When the band returned for a double encore, Yonghwa even went down the stage and walked around the floor area allowing BOICEs to see him closed-up.

All good things come to an end as the band chorused that this was the best audience during their ending speech. The trio continuously expressed their love and how much they missed Singapore’s BOICEs and inquired if they will be there when they returned again. Yonghwa even pinky-promised that they will be back very soon.

As the final notes played, CNBLUE paced around the stage and bowed to the crowd to express their gratitude marking the end of the night. It was indeed a night that will be etched in BOICEs core memory and we can’t wait to meet the band again in Singapore!

We would like to thank Unusual Entertainment for extending the media invitation to StarArena for this event.

ENHYPEN WORLD TOUR ‘FATE’ IN SINGAPORE

Singapore, 2024 – The rising sensation South Korea boy group, Enhypen was in Singapore for their two nights concert on the 20th and 21st January for the Fate In Asia world tour. The group consists of seven members: Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Niki.

The concert was held at The Singapore Indoor Stadium with over 12,00 fans from different ages, some even traveling from other countries just to catch the concert. The group performed songs from their debut album till their latest album, ‘Orange Blood’ capturing the hearts of many with their amazing synchronization. In total they performed 24 songs within the span of 3 hours that not only displayed their talent but also their versatility through the different genres of songs.

Since this was their first time performing in Singapore, they prepared many different segments for their fans – Engenes. Member Jake and Jay prepared a special segment just for their Singaporean fans – a collaboration where Jake covered the song, ‘Love Yourself’ by Justin Bieber while Jay played the guitar. It touched many fans’ heart as Jake once sang the song during his audition, and is now singing it in front of thousands of fans which showed how far he has made it as an idol.

While they were performing ‘Tamed-Dashed’ a song from their 1st studio album, ‘Dimension-Dilemma’, they threw a football off the stage. The lucky fan that managed to catch the ball walked away with handwritten signatures from the seven boys! From the same album they played a song called ‘Go Big or Go Home’ and had an in between segment where they spin a bottle and whoever it lands on must do a freestyle dance break while the rest of them try and follow along the dance moves.

Throughout the concert they made their audience feel very special with a lot of fan services as they interacted a lot with fans such as going down from the stage and walking along the standing pens section during the song ‘Polaroid Love’. Fans were able to see them up close and some were even able to get a one-on-one interaction with them personally. Not only that, they also showed off their aegyo to fans who were cheering to see it, much to the fans’ enjoyment. There were even times when the members took turns changing outfit just so that they could entertain the fans during breaks.

There was also a surprise in a form of a giant mascot of Pikachu while they were performing ‘One and Only’ – a collaboration between the group and Pokémon. It was adorable to see how each member interacted with the life-sized Pikachu that was on stage with them before sadly letting it go when the song came to an end.

As the saying goes ‘all good things must come to an end’, the members hinted that the concert was about to end as they playfully teased their fans by saying goodbye and asking if they should leave the stage or continue to stay. Of course, many fans started shouting for an encore. Before they continued with their last few songs, each of the members shared their thoughts on the two days concert they had here in Singapore.

“The thought of Engenes always cheering for us with such heat touched my heart”, Sunoo exclaimed. Jungwon then said, “The next time we come to Singapore we will try to beat the fans energy, so prepare for that!” he added on as he continued with a promise saying that they will come back next time again. Heeseung also teased the fans saying that they are preparing for a new album so keep a look out! One by one each members expressed their gratitude and appreciation towards the fans especially with the amount of love and support they had received in Singapore.

They then continued with their ending song ‘Karma’, a song that hyped the crowd up despite it being their last few moments on stage. They then continued by singing a surprise encore song one last time which was ‘Pass the mic’ where everyone jumped along, enjoying their last few minutes of the concert before it finally came to an end. The members took their time to wave at all the fans from different sections of the concert hall and then gathered for the final goodbye where they then bowed to everyone present that night.

It was definitely a memorable memory for many fans especially those who have been supporting them since their survival produced show, ‘I-Land’ till now! Enhypen made the wait worthwhile with their amazing performance, visuals, and personality. Let’s hope that they hold onto their promise of coming back here in the future. Till then, let us all support them for their upcoming comeback which will probably be happening anytime soon!

Thank you AEG Presents for inviting us to Enhypen Word Tour ‘Fate’ in Singapore!

MAMAMOO+ successfully held their first fan concert “TWO RABBITS CODE” in Singapore

15 November 2023 – MAMAMOO+, the official sub-unit of award-winning K-pop girl group MAMAMOO which comprises of main vocalist Solar and rapper Moon Byul, successfully held their first fan concert “TWO RABBITS CODE” at The Star Theater. The venue was filled with fans who have missed the duo dearly since their last show back in February.

The concert started with a short piece of Aniri, which refers to the narration or spoken elements of traditional pansori, a Korean genre of musical storytelling. With the cheering of their fans, the girls appeared on stage performing “CHICO MALO” from their first single album, Act 1, Scene 1. They greeted the fans warmly, saying that they missed Singapore Moomoo (fans of MAMAMOO) so much and is glad to be back again. As the announced dress code for Singapore was red, Solar jokingly said that everyone blended in with the red chairs therefore she couldn’t see them clearly. She mentioned that they have prepared a lot for this concert and hope everyone can have fun till the end.

The duo showcased their impressive vocals and harmony with “I LIKE THIS”, “STARRY NIGHT”, “STARRY SEA” and “BADA BOOM”. While performing the song “GGBB”, technical errors caused the songs to be interrupted. However, they showed professionalism and continued the remaining parts without music accompaniment.

During the solo stages, Solar blew the audience away with “ADRENALINE”, a song from the Vincenzo OST and she captivated the fans with her flawless high notes. She also performed her solo hits “SPIT IT OUT” and “HONEY”.

Moon Byul showed her stunning vocals through the song “DDU DDU DDU” and “SHUTDOWN”, which was released in her second extended play and she also performed “C.I.T.T (Cheese in the Trap)”. She charmed the fans with her cuteness and smooth dance moves.

An interactive segment, “TWO RABBITS CARD CORNER” was specially prepared by the duo where fans can raise either the white or green card to match the answers of the members. A total of three questions will be asked and their aim is to match at least two questions. If they succeed, they will be able to present the fans with a gift. For the first question on choosing to take photos at only one of Singapore’s representative photo spots, both Solar and Moon Byul chose ‘Eating Marina Bay Sands as if it’s a baguette’ over ‘Drinking water from the Merlion Statue’. Moon Byul explained that she thought posing as if to eat a baguette would be easier.

The second question was to choose between ‘Chilli Crab’ or ‘Pepper Crab’ and undoubtedly, both of them together with 90% of the audience chose ‘Chilli Crab’. Solar asked the fans if they like chilli crab and if they will eat it everyday and fans replied they like it but no as it’s too expensive. She wittily commented in English, “Ah, expensive… Singapore please, cheaper cheaper!”

For the last question, it was to choose the song which they want to hear Singapore Moomoos singing along to. They didn’t match this time round, Solar chose ‘TWO RABBITS’ whereas Moon Byul chose ‘DANGDANG’. Moon Byul explained that she believes Singapore Moomoos will know the song and might have practice beforehand, therefore she wants to hear it. The duo then sang the chorus of ‘DANGDANG’ together with Singapore Moomoos.

As they managed to win the game, they prepared the random dance challenge as a gift for the fans. They also surprised the fans with a dance medley of k-pop hits such as “SPICY”, “QUEENCARD” , “SUPER SHY” and “I AM”.

After singing “SAVE ME”, “I LOVE YOU TOO” and “LLL”, Moon Byul expressed that they felt so ecstatic to be able to visit Singapore fans, they will never forget all the love they received and make sure to pay back to them. While she was talking, she spotted some fans pulling out something below their seats. She teased the fans, saying “Did you all miss the timing?” and the fans laughed it off. She told Solar that they should close their eyes and turn their backs so that the fans can prepare it again. The fans then managed to raise their banners successfully, with the words “I have always loved you, I love you and I will love you so let us make sure to be with each other forever.” Both of them were touched by the sweet gestures and expressed their gratitude. Solar urged the fans to stay healthy so that they can see each other for a longer time.

When they finished singing the “last” two songs “TWO RABBITS” and “DANGDANG”, fans shouted for an encore and they returned to the stage singing “DINGGA” and “PROMISE YOU”. The duo even went down the stage to interact with their beloved fans. They then ended the concert perfectly with the hit song “UM OH AH YEH”.

LEE JE HOON CONCLUDES HIS INAUGURAL FANMEETING IN SINGAPORE!

Singapore – The actor is here on the sunny shores of Singapore to promote the second season of his hit drama “Taxi Driver” and also held his First Solo Fanmeeting <Vacation>. Prior to the Fanmeeting, Lee Je Hoon appeared at the press conference dressed head to toe in black and looking stylish. He was all- smiles as he greeted the host and audience warmly.

Here are some key takeaways from the press conference: He loves Singapore – He has been here at least twice since the pandemic travel restrictions lifted, on personal vacations and he walks around the island a lot on foot whenever he’s here! No, he does not dress as flamboyantly as Wang Tao Zi (a character that fans chose as his best persona in Taxi Driver) – His personal closet does not contain such clothes, as he says with a laugh.

The actor also reveals that his driving skill changed drastically after he filmed 2 seasons of Taxi Driver. Calling himself a “textbook driver” who follows all road rules safely, he has since learned to do some dangerous stunts (such as speeding and drifting) because of the show. He then candidly says that sometimes he has to remind himself that he’s not Kim Do-Gi and tries to ensure that he drives properly. He loves food – Listing down Hainan Chicken Rice, Chilli Crab and Bak Kut Teh as his choices but when forced to choose only one, he eventually settled for buffet as his option, as he could not choose.

Lee Je Hoon revealed that felt a little lonely as he had to work on most of the scenes in Season 1 alone. However, in season 2 of Taxi Driver, he is grateful that he was able to film more with the Rainbow Taxi Company team, and the most memorable part was when they had the meetings in the basement. He was also glad that he could reprise the role of Wang Tao Zi once again.

Here he is, showing off his acting skills! When prompted by the host, he then proceeded to showcase his different personas from Kim Do-Gi to Wang Tao Zi before smoothly transitioning into the bright smile and laughter of Lee Je Hoon.

Before wrapping up the press conference, Lee Je Hoon sincerely expressed how grateful he is for the opportunity to be here in Singapore to promote his own drama and hopes that he can be back again as Singapore is one of the countries he loves to visit.

We also had the opportunity to attend the first fanmeeting <Vacation> of the handsome actor, held
at Stephen Riady Auditorium, NTUC Centre on 25 March 2023! The fanmeeting consisted of two sessions: 2PM & 6PM.
Before kicking off the fanmeeting, he earnestly thanked the fans for coming despite the harsh weather. Lee Je Hoon then interacted with the fans through a variety of well-thought-out questions which revealed more of his personality and preferences, played an exciting trivia game, and even serenaded the fans sweetly with his cover of LANY’s “Thick And Thin”.
Here are some snippets from the 2-part segment of his Q&A:

His most memorable moment recently – The Fanmeeting and the opportunity to meet the fans in Asia. As a TMI, Lee Je Hoon hinted at his upcoming project – Financial Crime and he will be speaking English so he has been practicing for it! He also revealed a little spoiler for the next episode of Taxi Driver 2, which got the crowd eager with anticipation. He loves that in Singapore, he doesn’t have to travel far to find delicious food in one place and that amazes him. He enjoys street food snacks such as Gimbap, Odeng and Tteokbokki! His morning routine includes having an apple and it’s a habit he’s had for 30 years! The actor also made an impromptu sweet morning wake-up call for the fans that had them squealing in delight. When asked about the workout routine he does, he did not hesitate to do a live demonstration of his push-ups and sit-ups. Later on, the playful actor also teased the fans with a glimpse of his abs which got the fans swooning in their seats.

Lastly, the actor engaged with the fans through a fun trivia game. The crowd was buzzing with excitement as they participated with much enthusiasm right till the end. 3 true-blue fans who got all the questions right won the opportunity to get on stage to pose for a 1:1 photo and even a hug too.

It was definitely a heartwarming and cute moment, congratulations to the lucky fans!
The time spent definitely felt like a vacation with Lee Je Hoon. We hope to see the charming and humble actor back on our sunny island again someday!

Be sure to also catch Taxi Driver 2, currently available for streaming on Viu as well.

Thank you VIUSG for the invite!
