Singapore, 2026 – 28 June concludes the showdown of NBA Rising Stars Invitational, a premier regional high-school basketball tournament in the Asia-Pacific for youth under 18. 

The second annual event was headlined by NBA champions Jeremy Lin and Mitch Richmond, Los Angeles Lakers forward Rui Hachimura, and WNBA champion Lauren Jackson, who also interacted with the youth participants in meet-and-greet sessions. Adding to the excitement was K-pop group LNGSHOT, who graced Singapore’s shores for the very first time. 

The game had the audience on the edge of their seats at OCBC Arena, ending with Seika Girls’ High School and Kyungbock High School securing the titles for the girls and boys categories.

“A lot of learnings from today, especially the first half. It was a tight game. Overall, it’s been a good experience to be able to talk to people from all over the world,” Chinatsu Uchiyae, captain of Seika Girls’ high School team, shared her thoughts. Their team achieved a 106 – 59 victory against Yangming High School.

The captain of Kyungbock High School, Jiwoon Yoon, reflected, “Leading up to winning the championship… I tried to stay focused and determined. I think the award ceremony was the most memorable moment.” The Korean team competed against Tottori Johoku High School from Japan, and earned a 82-72 triumph.

The event did not just end at the awards ceremony – K-pop rookie group LNGSHOT rounded up the night as one of the most-anticipated headliners. The energy of the crowd was already high, but the four members maxed the intensity with hits like ‘Are You Ready’, ‘FaceTime’, ‘Never Let Go’ and ‘Saucin’’. 

Woojin was in a shoulder sling cast but was still giving his all, even heading into the audience to sign for fans.

LNGSHOT also attended the Youth Clinic in the morning, getting up close and personal with young, aspiring players while learning fundamental basketball skills from accredited NBA coaches.

The finale was filled with moments to fully immerse the audience, such as featuring audience members on the big screen, players throwing out autographed balls and merch, and stunt-filled performances.
