Singapore, 2026 – Barely two years into their career, NEXZ — comprising Tomoya, Yu, Haru, So Geon, Seita, Hyui and Yuki — proved that they are anything but “typical” at their first Singapore showcase.
The evening kicked off with the aptly titled “Mmchk,” immediately setting the tone with hard-hitting choreography and explosive energy. As confetti rained over the audience, the septet made a memorable first impression before introducing themselves during the opening talk segment, where they were greeted by loud cheers from the crowd.
Without slowing down, the group transitioned into “O-RLY?” and “I’m Him,” showcasing the confidence that has become synonymous with NEXZ’s performances. The opening trio of songs highlighted the group’s strongest asset — seamless teamwork. Every formation was executed with precision, while each member’s unique personality still had room to shine.
However, the showcase was not just about performances. Throughout the evening, multiple talk segments allowed fans to witness the playful chemistry that has endeared NEXZ to their supporters since debut. Hyui introduced Mmchk as an album that represents freedom and their love for performing. The members also shared interesting stories and interacted with fans while embracing the light-hearted atmosphere.

During one segment, individual photos of the members were displayed on screen as they explained the concepts behind each image. Since many of the photos featured the members winking, they were asked to rate their own winks before taking part in a mini winking contest. The results? Fans were unable to choose a clear winner, proving that every member had their own charm.
After a short break, the momentum picked up again with “NALLINA” and “Simmer.” Their sharp choreography and stable live delivery reaffirmed why NEXZ are regarded as one of the most promising new acts. Tomoya’s confident leadership anchored each stage, while Haru’s polished dance lines, Yu’s bright charisma, So Geon’s commanding presence, Seita’s expressive performances, Hyui’s effortless charm and Yuki’s youthful energy combined to create a performance that felt cohesive while still allowing every member’s individuality to stand out.

A reverse song quiz brought some of the loudest cheers of the night as NEXZ showcased their competitive yet playful personalities. With only three seconds of each reversed track played, the members had to identify the song titles, scoring an impressive seven out of eight answers. Despite winning the challenge, they still accepted the forfeit and delighted fans with dance covers of “Run It” by Stray Kids, “I Want You Back” by NSYNC and “Iconic by Mistake” by KATSEYE.
As the showcase entered its final stretch, “HYPEMAN” brought another burst of energy and confetti before flowing into “Ride the Vibe,” NEXZ’s official debut title track. The audience sang and cheered along, creating one of the evening’s biggest highlights.
One of the most memorable moments came during “Run With Me,” when the members stepped off the stage to interact with fans around the theatre. Some members even made their way up to the second floor to get closer to their fans. This gesture made the experience feel especially personal, giving lucky fans the opportunity to see the members up close while the rest of the audience cheered them on.

Following a group photo with fans, NEXZ closed the main set with “Next Zeneration” and “Beat Boxer,” seemingly bringing the night to an end. However, the enthusiastic chants from Singapore’s NEX2Y quickly brought the group back for an encore.
Returning in casual T-shirt outfits, NEXZ performed “Keep on Moving,” before sharing heartfelt messages of gratitude during their final ment. The members also prepared their speeches in multiple languages, including a special touch of “Singlish,” making the moment feel even more personal and showing their appreciation for their international fanbase.

Just when fans thought the night had truly ended, NEXZ surprised everyone once again with an encore encore performance of “Mmchk,” transforming the theatre into one final celebration.
Throughout the show, NEXZ showcased remarkable confidence and maturity while maintaining the youthful sincerity that makes them so easy to support. With polished performances, genuine fan interactions and undeniable chemistry, their Singapore debut showcase became more than just another tour stop — it was a memorable introduction that left fans eagerly awaiting their return. If Mmchk: Not Typical was meant to introduce NEXZ to Singapore, it succeeded with flying colours, and the next time they return, they may just need an even bigger stage.
