Jakarta, 2017 – Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Indonesia, Cho Tai-young delivered Gwanghwa Medal, a diplomatic medal from the Republic of Korea to Triawan Munaf, Head of Creative Economic Agency. The Gwanghwa Medal for Triawan Munaf is the highest diplomatic medal awarded by the Korean Government to the Foreign Citizens who have contributed to improving bilateral relations of Republic of Korea and its country. Medal submission event (including Reception held by Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Cho Tai-young) was held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at the Auditorium of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea starting at 11.30 Indonesia Time.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Indonesia, Cho Tai-young expressed his gratitude to Triawan Munaf, because he has been enhancing the cooperative relations of the Republic of Korea and Republic of Indonesia in the creative industry field as Head of Creative Economic Agency. Even Triawan Munaf has also encouraged the realization of cooperation between the two countries in the field of economy and trade and help Korean companies to expand their business to Indonesia as Senior Liaison Officer.
Head of Creative Economic Agency, Triawan Munaf has served since January 2015. Triawan Munaf has been enhancing in implementing the MoU between the Government of the Republic of Korea and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia in the field of Creative Industries, also increased cooperation between the two countries in the field of film, publishing, broadcasting, and contents. Triawan Munaf was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo as Senior Liaison Officer for Korea, supporting the promotion of Korean investment (or investment) to Indonesia since November 2015.
The Government of the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Indonesia formally established diplomatic relations in 1973, and both governments have approved a strategic partnership in 2006. Currently, the exchange rate of citizens between the two countries is 540,000. Korea is Indonesia’s 5th largest trading partner, and Indonesia is also the 12th largest trading partner of Korea. As a ‘Leader’ country for ASEAN and the only country that has become a member of G20 among ASEAN member countries, Indonesia is a very important partner for Korea.
The medal awards ceremony to Triawan Munaf, Head of Creative Economic Agency attended by Triawan Munaf’s family, John A.
