Kim Jae Hwan had gained attention on <Produce 101> as an independent contestant without any management company supporting behind. He managed to move the audiences’ heart with his singing ability and rank within top 11 in the show. He claims himself a spot to debut as one of Wanna One’s member when he ranked 4th in the finals. As the main vocalist of the group, he continue to attract more fans not just with his crystal clear, angelic vocal but also with his playful character. He was also known as the happy virus of the group.
The popular K-pop Group Wanna One had always been the center of attention ever since the members were still competing on the talent show. They enjoyed high popularity across Asia since their debut with first mini album <1 X 1= 1(To Be One)> and their shows are always selling hot in every city they visited around the world. They grew from rising star to top star within 2 years and swept the best rookie award in almost every big award ceremony.
Begin Again as a Singer-songwriter
Kim Jae Hwan greeted his fans alone for the first time through Vlive on 1 February and recorded 710,000 viewers with 70,000,000 likes for that session. On 3 Feb, he announced his official fansclub name as WIN:D, meaning ‘fans will always surround him like wind’. He continued to receive love calls as a solo, where he was the only Korean artist invited to attend Hong Kong’s biggest clothing enterprise I.T brand IZZUE’s first fashion show at London Fashion Week, one of the most renowned fashion events in the world. He also held a guerilla white day event for fans on 14 March, gathering over 3,000 fans despite the event was only announced one day ahead.
It’s been 4 months since Wanna One last stage as a whole and Kim Jae Hwan has been working hard on his solo album since their disbandment. Kim Jae Hwan is now officially debuting as a singer songwriter with his very first self-composing album <Another>. His collaboration with veteran singer/producer Im Chang Jung for his title song <Begin Again> has garnered public’s attention as Im Chang Jung himself is a well-known hit-maker. The song has been receiving positive remarks upon release and besides the ear- catching collaboration, Kim Jae Hwan has also participated in composing every song in the album, hoping to share his thoughts with WIN:D through his music.
