Singapore, 2022– Stars are set to align at Marina Bay Sands next week with a stellar line-up of celebrities across South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, and the United States making their show-stopping appearance at the integrated resort as part of the very first on-site Disney Content Showcase.
Hosted in partnership with The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific, the showcase is bringing together 23 of the brightest talent in the industry to headline a two-day spectacle that will see Marina Bay Sands roll out the blue carpet for the biggest talent group ever hosted on property. Taking place on 30 November, the blue carpet event will allow the public to have the rare opportunity to catch a glimpse of their favourite celebrities from across the region.
Fans in attendance can look forward to riding the Korean wave in the presence of South Korean heartthrob Jung Haein, actor and comedian Ko Kyungpyo, and breakout actress Kim Hyejun, who will be starring in the crime fantasy thriller Connect, helmed by legendary Japanese filmmaker Miike Takashi. Additionally, the all-star cast of upcoming series Big Bet featuring Squid Game villain Heo Sungtae and multi-hyphenate Lee Donghwi can be spotted alongside acclaimed director Kang Yunsung.
Other luminaries gracing the event include the charming cast behind several new Japanese dramas – Yuya Yagira, Riho Yoshioka and Shinzo Katayama. Beloved Indonesian talent Deva Mahenra, Chelsea Islan and Refal Hady will also share the spotlight. Meanwhile, hailing all the way from the United States is Asian-American storyboard artist, animator, voice actor, and filmmaker Peter Sohn – the director of the all-new, original feature film Elemental.
On top of the star-studded blue carpet moment, an expansive theatrical and streaming slate for 2023 will also be presented at the Disney Content Showcase – including a growing collection of APAC Originals on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar, told by some of the region’s best storytellers.
The Disney Content Showcase marks yet another pinnacle moment for Marina Bay Sands. It ushers in the next chapter of the integrated resort’s close collaboration with the media giant, which started in 2015 with many ground-breaking international events such as the Avengers: Infinity War red carpet fan event in 2018 and the nationally televised Disney+ launch in 2021.
Mr Paul Town, Chief Operating Officer of Marina Bay Sands, said, “We are extremely honoured to expand our longstanding partnership with The Walt Disney Company through this landmark event. Playing host to the biggest talent tour ever held at the integrated resort truly marks our return to form as we continue to welcome many exhilarating events back to the property. Over the years, we have been committed to shaping Singapore as a global hub for world-class events and are delighted to have crossed yet another milestone that will further cement Marina Bay Sands’ pole position as Asia’s leading entertainment destination.”
