Kyuhyun successfully holds ‘Restart’ concert in Hong Kong

Hong Kong, 2024 – After seven years, Kyuhyun, a member of the South Korean boy band Super Junior, came to Hong Kong again to hold a solo concert, which was held for two consecutive days on April 4-5, 2024 (Thursday to Friday) at Hall 10 of AsiaWorld-Expo. Kyuhyun, the lyrical prince, joined the new company Antenna last year and launched his new EP “Restart” in January this year, starting anew with the mentality of starting over.

In the beginning, Kyuhyun appeared in a gorgeous white suit and performed “Restart” and “Dreaming”. During the concert, Kyuhyun showed off his fluent Mandarin and some Cantonese. Kyuhyun said that he wanted to sing more songs from the SJM era, including Lin Yilian’s “At Least I Still Have You”, Jam Hsiao’s “Forgive Me” and “New Love”. When singing “At least I still have you”, the whole audience KYUpiter and ELF (fan name) sang together during the chorus, which moved Kyuhyun so much that he even shed tears at one point. In addition to Mandarin songs, Kyuhyun also prepared a Cantonese song: “Invisible Playground” by Henry Zhang, which surprised the audicence.

In addition to the ballads that Kyuhyun is good at, he performed a section of the musical, sang and danced to Super Junior’s hit songs “Black Suit” and “Sorry Sorry”, and even changed into a pink suit jacket and danced to a famous Japanese singer YOASOBI’s “Idol” which heightened the atmosphere.

While performing Kyuhyun’s popular solo song “At Gwanghwamun”, Kyuhyun fell down midway and immediately got up and said “It’s okay” in Mandarin. After the song ended, he said it was part of the performance and asked everyone not to worry. During the concert, Kyuhyun stepped off the stage twice and walked around the entire venue. He expressed that he hoped that the audience could see him clearly, so he would walk in front of everyone. In the final farewell event, Kyuhyun sang and interacted with KYUpiter in the audience.
