Singapore, 2026 – Three years after his last solo concert, Yang Yoseop finally brought <Fade In> to Singapore for the very first time—and it was well worth the wait. Held before a hall filled with eager Singapore Lights, the HIGHLIGHT vocalist delivered an evening that showcased everything fans have come to love about him. Beyond his impeccable live vocals and emotional performances, it was Yoseop’s effortless humour, quick wit and genuine affection for his fans that transformed <Fade In> into something far more intimate than a typical concert.

Opening the evening with the gentle trio of ‘Dear My’, ‘I’ll Be with You’ and ‘Star’, Yoseop needed nothing more than his voice to command the audience’s attention. Beginning ‘Dear My’ almost entirely a cappella before the instrumentation gradually joined in, he immediately demonstrated why he remains one of K-pop’s most respected vocalists.

Greeting the audience with his signature warmth, he introduced himself with, “Hello everyone, this is your star Yang Yoseop,” only to be met with thunderous chants of his name. “I feel like I’m hearing you in surround sound and I feel so great about it,” he laughed.

Celebrating both his first solo concert in Singapore and his first solo concert in three years, Yoseop could hardly contain his excitement as he looked around the venue. “There are so many of you Light here tonight,” he beamed before checking on everyone’s energy the only way he knew how. “I want to check with your voices. Let me hear you. Make some noise!”

After hearing the deafening response, he couldn’t help but grin. “Shiok!”

Wanting to make the occasion even more memorable, Yoseop surprised fans by sprinkling Singlish throughout the evening. “You all wait for me ah? I also miss you leh.” The crowd erupted into cheers as he shyly followed up with, “Am I doing good?”

Having arrived in Singapore just a day earlier, Yoseop shared that he had spent time admiring the city’s famous skyline. But in classic Yoseop fashion, he couldn’t resist flattering the audience instead. “But you guys are more beautiful than the skyline that I saw last night. You know that? You agree? Yah yah.”

The playful compliments kept coming as Yoseop conducted an impromptu survey to find out what Singapore Lights enjoyed most.

“I like sad, heart-wrenching ballads.”

“I like fun and exciting songs.”

Finally, with a mischievous smile, he asked, “I like sexy performance.” The venue instantly exploded into screams.

“I got your intentions perfectly,” he laughed. “I will be showing you everything tonight, so please look forward to it.”

Rather than simply moving from song to song, <Fade In> unfolded like a movie inspired by his latest album. Yoseop explained that while the album’s title track was “Fade Away”, the concert explored the opposite concept—memories and emotions that “fade in” and linger like afterimages. Each chapter represented a different form of love, with Yoseop encouraging fans to think of the concert as watching an omniverse film together.

One of the concert’s most entertaining performances came during ‘Chuck’, where Yoseop used a specially-made telephone microphone while acting out an imaginary phone conversation.

“Hello hi BB… what? You want me to explain? Oh my gosh…”

Moments later he continued the dramatic skit.

“She very angry sia. What to do ah? Aiya, don’t know what to do lah. There goes my sleep tonight.”

The combination of Singlish, exaggerated expressions and playful acting left the audience laughing just as much as they were singing along.

His adorable personality shone again after ‘Moonlight’, where Yoseop briefly disappeared backstage for a costume change while Singapore Lights continued singing the chorus without him. Returning to the stage with a proud smile, he praised the audience.

“Singapore Light, you are really good at singing. I trusted you and quickly went to change.” Clearly touched, he even asked fans to sing the chorus once more so he could simply stand and listen. “Very nice. I’m so touched.”

When Yoseop later revealed that the earlier performances had been staged like a musical depicting a romantic relationship, fans immediately requested that he recreate the umbrella scene from ‘You Don’t Know’. Although insisting it “wasn’t that amazing”, he bashfully acted it out again before immediately covering his face. “Ah, I’m so embarrassed.”

The teasing didn’t stop there. When Yoseop asked whether everyone felt less upset after the telephone scene in ‘Chuck’, fans completely ignored the question and instead chanted for aegyo. Without hesitation, Yoseop sweetly responded, “BB, I miss you.”

Yoseop asked the crowd if they had become “even angrier,” prompting him to repeat the line once more as the venue erupted into screams again. Throughout the evening, Yoseop constantly found new ways to involve the audience.

After discovering his smartphone’s dual-camera mode through one of the episodes of Yoseobi These Days, a YouTube web variety show, he excitedly decided to film an Instagram Story during the concert. Hoping to make his fellow HIGHLIGHT members jealous enough to visit Singapore themselves, he encouraged everyone to scream as loudly as possible into the camera.

Pleased with the recording, Yoseop promised to upload it after the concert and reminded everyone to “press like.” When fans jokingly asked him to simply AirDrop the video to the entire venue, Yoseop looked around in mock confusion.

“That isn’t my phone,” he laughed. With a mischievous smile, he then asked, “Can I just give you my love through AirDrop?” He immediately sent hand hearts across the venue before asking, “You got it?”

Judging from the audience’s delighted reaction, they certainly did.

As entertaining as Yoseop was, <Fade In> never lost sight of its emotional core. A special highlight came through an exclusive drama OST medley featuring ‘More than Everything’, ‘Even Now’ and ‘One in a Million’, songs he admitted many fans had never heard him perform live before.

Reflecting on just how many soundtracks he had recorded throughout his career, Yoseop made one heartfelt request. “Please continue to be my fan until I’m done singing all those songs to you.”

Later, introducing ‘The Last Cold’, Yoseop revealed that he had written the song during his military service, at a time when he had no idea when he would be able to meet fans again. “I didn’t know when, but I knew when I stood in front of you again I was hoping that you would love me just the same.”

Looking around the venue now, however, those worries seemed almost amusing. “I think the feelings I had when I was writing ‘The Last Cold’ are a little cute now,” he laughed before adding, “Never mind… I’m really jealous. So please love me.”

The audience immediately answered with loud cheers and chants of his name.

“That’s enough. More than enough,” Yoseop laughed.

He also shared the touching meaning behind the lavender flowers decorating the stage, explaining that lavender symbolises waiting. Knowing fans had patiently waited for both him and HIGHLIGHT throughout the years, he wanted the flowers to represent that enduring bond.

Looking ahead, Yoseop expressed his hope that the next time he returned to Singapore, it would be together with the rest of HIGHLIGHT. “And when that happens, please come find us and see us. Love us.”

Before performing ‘Alone’, Yoseop spoke honestly about the song’s message of comforting people through difficult times. “Of course moving forward, I really wish that you guys won’t have anything difficult in your lives. But just in case you feel that way, please think of me.”

The concert concluded with ‘It’s You’ and ‘Fade Away’, before Yoseop returned for an encore wearing an “I ❤️ SG” T-shirt and an adorable crab headband that instantly drew laughter from the audience. Walking through the aisles, throwing signed star-shaped balls to fans seated throughout the venue and greeting every section personally, he made sure no one felt left out of the celebration.

Before the final songs, Singapore Lights surprised Yoseop with a touching fan banner project, creating one last emotional moment as they posed for a commemorative group photo together.

After fans shouted, “영원히 사랑해!” (“I love you forever!”), Yoseop thanked everyone once again before sprinting into the final stretch with ‘Shine’, eventually bringing the evening to a warm and joyful close with ‘Love Day’.

Much like the concert’s central theme of memories that continue to linger, <Fade In> left behind far more than unforgettable performances. It was an evening where world-class vocals met genuine sincerity, where theatrical storytelling blended seamlessly with spontaneous comedy, and where one of K-pop’s finest vocalists reminded everyone that his greatest strength isn’t just his voice—it’s his remarkable ability to make thousands of fans feel like they’re spending the evening with an old friend.

For a concert built around afterimages that never fade, Yang Yoseop ensured Singapore Lights will be holding onto this one for a very long time.
