Jakarta, 2017 – Multi talented rapper and leader of South Korea’s most phenomenal boy group G-Dragon had just finished his Jakarta concert tour on September 3. Titled <ACT III, M.O.T.T.E>, G-Dragon attracted thousands of VIPs who filled ICE BSD’s hall. Dominated in red, the concert’s concept is to introduce Kwon Jiyong, which is G-Dragon’s real name. For two hours, G-Dragon performed and introduced his real self to the audience with his songs and stage acts.
Accompanied by a live band, the concert looked more like an art show as G-Dragon awed the audiences with a conceptual stage act during singing his famous songs such as ‘Heartbreaker’, ‘Breathe’ and ‘A Boy’. The 29 years old rapper continued the concert with ‘But I Love You’ and ‘Obsession’, then brought up the hype with ‘MichiGO’, ‘One Of A Kind’ and ‘R.O.D’.
The Big Bang leader also showed various charms and emotions in every song he sang. During ‘That XX’ and ‘Black’ for example, he showed how devastated a guy in love can be with the way he lowered his head and acted solemnly. Yet, he was also very energetic despite the hot weather when he performed ‘Crayon’.
Through a VCR, close friends of G-Dragon was asked of their opinion of G-Dragon and Kwon Jiyong and what makes them different from each other. Big Bang fellow member Taeyang and other YG Artists such as Psy, CL, and Sandara Park each got their turn to give their testimonials on G-Dragon and Kwon Jiyong. G-Dragon’s parents also spoke up about their filial son who worked hard from scratch and slowly built his dream. Yet for his parents, the Kwon Jiyong now is still the same Kwon Jiyong they raised, a son who can never say no to his parents and actually really soft at heart.
The concert ended with ‘Untitled: 2014’ and a promise that G-Dragon will come back to Indonesia next time with all members of Big Bang.
ACT III: M.O.T.T.E is G-Dragon’s second solo concert. Kicked off in Seoul last June, the concert has been sold out in every stop of the tour. The next stop of this world tour will be at Kuala Lumpur on 17 September.
