Seoul, South Korea 2026 — Disney+’s action thriller A Shop for Killers returns for its highly anticipated second season, with the cast and creative team gathering for the press conference at Conrad Seoul on July 20, 2026, to introduce the next chapter.

Director Lee Kwon joined returning stars Lee Dong Wook, Kim Hye Joon, Jo Han Sun, Geum Hannah, and Kim Min, alongside new cast members Masaki Okada, Hyunri, and Jung Yun Ha, who bring international characters that expand the series’ world.

Based on Kang Ji Young’s novel The Killer’s Shopping Mall, the series follows Jung Ji An (Kim Hye Joon), who discovers after her uncle Jung Jin Man’s (Lee Dong Wook) death that he secretly operated Murthehelp, a weapons marketplace for assassins. Season 2 follows Ji An as she steps into Jin Man’s legacy and faces Babylon, a powerful global mercenary organization threatening Murthehelp.

From Survival to Counterattack
Director Lee Kwon revealed that Season 2 centers on the theme of “counterattack,” shifting the story from Ji An’s struggle for survival to a fight where the characters actively confront their enemies.

Expanding beyond the original novel, the sequel introduces larger conflicts, new opponents, and a wider look at Murthehelp and Babylon while maintaining the emotional connection between Ji An and Jin Man.

Character Growth and Evolution
Season 2 marks a major transformation for Ji An, who moves from a civilian caught in danger to the new representative of Murthehelp. Kim Hye Joon shared that viewers will see a more confident and capable Ji An through stronger leadership and expanded action sequences, including advanced firearms training.

The sequel also explores the evolving relationship between Ji An and Jin Man. Rather than simply protecting her, Jin Man now stands alongside Ji An as they face their enemies together. Lee Dong Wook described the season as the beginning of their “true counterattack,” highlighting Jin Man’s choices, sacrifices, and deeper bond with Ji An.

Returning Fighters: Old Allies, New Battles
As the conflict expands, returning characters also experience new challenges. Returning villain Bae Il, played by Jo Han Sun, becomes an even more relentless threat, driven by his obsession and determination to continue his pursuit.

Geum Hannah’s Min-hye develops a stronger connection with Ji An and the Murthehelp team, while Kim Min’s Pasin returns as a key ally with his signature fighting skills and loyalty.

Together, the returning characters deepen the emotional stakes behind the growing conflict between Murthehelp and Babylon.

Babylon’s East Asia Branch Expands the Threat
Season 2 will also introduce Babylon’s expanded East Asia branch, bringing a more organized and international threat.

Masaki Okada makes his Korean drama debut as J, Babylon’s ace fighter, adding a powerful rival capable of challenging Murthehelp’s fighters. Hyunri plays Q, the strategic leader of Babylon’s East Asia branch, while Jung Yun Ha takes on the role of Kusanagi, a high-ranking figure who reveals more about Babylon’s global influence.

Their arrival transforms the story from a personal battle into a larger international conflict.

Bigger Action and a Larger World
The cast highlighted Season 2’s upgraded action, featuring more ambitious sequences with motorcycle stunts, wire work, firearms, and martial arts. The action not only raises the scale of the series but also reflects the characters’ growth and the increasing threat from Babylon.

New cast members also underwent extensive training to prepare for the series’ demanding combat scenes, adding greater intensity to the expanded world.

A Bigger, Darker Chapter Ahead
Following the success of its first season, A Shop for Killers returns with higher stakes, a broader universe, and a more ambitious story.
