B1A4 recently did a comeback with a young, fresh and mature mature with their new album, ‘Sweet Girl‘. In their newest MV which was release on 10th August, the five members of B1A4 transformed into 5 lovely boys in a fairytale-like world. The scenes in the MV were so beautiful and captivating and it definitely made fans squealed with excitement and anticipation.

The style of this song is funk-like with a tinge of sweetness and gentleness. Even before this song was released, it was voted by Koreans youths (aged 10-19), as the song that they listened to the most from 4th Aug 2015 to 11th Aug 2015. Another song that has been in the focus of attention was ‘10 years later‘. This particular song narrated the feelings B1A4‘s leader, Jinyoung, felt during the period before comeback and his thoughts on how he would like to become 10 years later. It expressed his wish to make good use of his time now to achieve his goals and live a fulfilling life.

In the recent recording of ‘2015 Idol Star Athletic Championship‘, B1A4 purchased 200 packaged meals to thank fans that came to recording and also for their unwavering support for B1A4 all these while. In B1A4‘s recent comeback posters, it hinted several upcoming events and interaction opportunities fans can get with B1A4. Let’s all anticipate the surprise B1A4 have for their fans!

Artistes such as Hyuna (4 Minute member) and Jessica (former Girls’ Generation Member) have uploaded and shared this album with their followers, encouraging them to listen and support B1A4‘s newest album/songs.

In this comeback, the youngest member of B1A4, Gongchan, left his cute image behind and showed his toned and well-trained body, which pleasantly surprised many fans.

It is no debate that B1A4 is a group of warm-hearted boys and in the recent unfortunate incident in Tianjin, they immediately expressed their concerns and prayers for those affected by the incident. This definitely substantiated the fact of how good-natured and kind these lovely boys are!

Simultaneous Rating for ATTACK ON TITAN (Part 1) Release in Singapore

Singapore, 4th August 2015   –   The long awaited and most highly anticipated Japanese live-action blockbuster, ATTACK ON TITAN (Part 1), will be released in Singapore on 13th August. Sneak previews will be held from 6th to 10th August (Thursday to Monday) over the National Day long weekend. ATTACK ON TITAN opened in Japan on 1st August and got off to a superb start with excellent box office results for the opening day. It’s first day’s result was 94% higher than GODZILLA (2014)’s first day’s result. The final box office for the first part is now expected to surpass US$40 million.

Two versions of the movie, M18 (Original Version) & NC16 (Edited Version), will be released simultaneously in various cinemas island-wide during sneaks and official release in Singapore. This is the first time that a movie will release with simultaneous rating in Singapore. Being fully aware of the huge ATTACK ON TITAN manga and animation fan base in Singapore, this decision was made so as to ensure that the movie adaptation can enable consumers to choose upfront the version of the movie they would prefer to watch and can reach out to and include as many viewers and fans as possible across the largest possible age range.

“We hope that by releasing the NC16 version, younger fans are also given the opportunity to watch the movie that they’ve anticipated for so long. At the same time, the M18 original (un-cut) version is screened as well so as not to disappoint fans who are 18 and above.” said Joyce Lee, Managing Director, Encore Films.

We are also pleased to announce that ATTACK ON TITAN is the first Asian film to be released on D-BOX in Singapore at GV Bishan. We trust that D-BOX format will bring out the best of the action-packed battle scenes in ATTACK ON TITAN and aims to provide viewers the most raw, visceral and immersive cinematic experience.

ATTACK ON TITAN M18, NC16 & D-BOX versions will be screened at different cinema locations respectively:

M18
GV Suntec City
GV Vivocity
GV Great World City
Cathay Orchard
Cathay Cineleisure

NC16
GV Plaza
GV Katong
GV Tampines
GV Jurong Point
GV Bishan

NC16 D-BOX

About the movie:

Adapted from the hit manga series written and illustrated by Isayama Hajime, ATTACK ON TITAN is an “extreme scale” live-action movie that has created intense hype even before it is released. The 16 volume manga series sold more than 50 million copies worldwide and when everyone thought it was impossible to re-enact the story in a live-action film, the best staff from the Japanese movie, animation and special effects industries gathered together to realize the impossible. The movie will feature extensive, large-scale action scenes with flying movements by 3D manoeuvring. This dark fantasy is set in an apocalyptic world where humanity is caged behind enormous walls as a defence against the Titans, gigantic humanoid creatures that devour humans.

ATTACK ON TITAN is directed by world-renowned director Shinji Higuchi, who also directed the epic blockbuster “The Sinking of Japan” in 2006. The film also stars famous and in-demand young stars Haruma Miura, Kiko Mizuhara and Kanata Hongo.

Some of the most anticipated and talked about scenes of the movie include how the production team were able to make the towering, man-eating giants come alive. These Titans were created under the joint efforts of state-of-the-art technology as well as the commitment of hundreds of cast and crew members. The adrenaline packed action scenes where our heroes and heroines battled their foes were created via top-notch VFX techniques by Special Effects Director Onoue Katsuro and Special Make Producer Nishimura Yoshihiro.

Above all, a large part of the movie was filmed on Hashima Island (more commonly known as Gunkanjima or “Battleship” Island for its resemblance to the Japanese battleship Tosa). The location was choosen as the desolate and abandoned island made it the perfect “new world” setting for the apocalyptic film. During the Japan press conference, actors Haruma Miura and Kiko Mizuhara mentioned that the desolate ambience on the island was so strong that they were able to feel “the Titans coming through those ruined walls.” Director Shinji Higuchi also remarked that “Gunkanjima is not just an island of ruins, but fits exactly into the story of ATTACK ON TITAN where manhood suddenly disappears and the land is left empty. It is a beautiful yet melancholic place. I really thought it would be impossible to use the island for filming, but I am very happy to be able to shoot the movie here.”

ATTACK ON TITAN is co-distributed by Encore Films and Golden Village Pictures in Singapore. It is scheduled to open island-wide on 13th August. Sneak previews will open from 6th to 10th August, over the National Day long weekend. ATTACK ON TITAN 2: END OF THE WORLD (Part 2) will open on 24th September in Singapore.

Are You Ready To Play With Jolin Tsai?

IMG_020224th July 2015 – The Queen of Chinese Pop was back in town for her fourth concert PLAY WORLD TOUR, titled after her latest album.

The night was full of the sexy entertainment and chock full of entertaining tunes that had the entire audience on their feet. Sets and costumes were spared no expense, as the singer donned headpieces and multiple costumes amidst props like a huge diamond-studded skull and a Barbie doll set up.

IMG_0505

Jolin Tsai definitely knew how to impress as she appeared on stage with headpiece full of silvery snakes that each had a life of its own to the appropriately named song, “Medusa”. Her vocal skills had definitely improved since the last time she was here four years ago, and it was lovely to see Jolin rocking fast tempo songs to soaring notes in ballads.

IMG_0223

Going back to her roots, Jolin pulled out hits and classics from her 16 years worth of tracks like “Prague Square” and “Dancing Diva”, as well as trying to squeeze in as much songs as possible in the three hour long concert. From highlights of certain tracks to medleys, the singer spiced things up with different arrangements that was a treat for fans, some of who flew in specially for her concert.

Her posse of dancers also did not let down, as they first appeared in high heels, providing a subtle subversion of gender roles, and later on became gazers in a jazz club scene.

IMG_0281

Despite having a 360-degree stage, Jolin was not intimidated by the sheer size of the stage as she constantly revolved around the four sides of the stage. The pint-sized power dancing machine showed off her moves through the physically demanding dance routines, and did not seem to tire, fitting her title as a dancing diva.

Another highlight was when Jolin took a trip down memory lane, and turned the stage into a scene straight out of a 1920s movie as she appeared in a flapper dress.

Having made the news previously for her controversial track, “We’re All Different, Yet The Same” which she performed towards the end of the night, Jolin’s conviction in using music to support what she stands for showed her firm beliefs in encouraging a person to follow his feelings.

Known for her ease at speaking with the audience, fans were worried that fan interaction would be kept to a minimum as Jolin shared, but the singer started loosening up towards the end of her concert. Jolin’s musical ties to the local music scene were through two Singaporean musicians, brothers Paul and Peter Lee, who were amongst her first producers.

Jolin’s confidence and ease on stage comes with her many years of experience on stage, and she was in control of the entire atmosphere. She knew exactly how to get the energy level up, from telling the crowd to “Get Off Your Asses!” to snapping selfies.
