Singapore, 2018 – 2018 was a significant year filled with events that marked a sign of changing times both in Singapore and the rest of the world. Google presents its annual Year in Search 2018 with the top trending topics, people, events and places that captured the attention of Singaporeans.

Google’s Year in Search 2018 examines the searches conducted by Singaporeans over the past 12 months to find out which are the trends that are still going strong from 2017, and trends such as our united love for sports, gadgets, and movies.

This year, while we do see a growing interest in Chinese entertainment with TV shows such as with the Story of Yanxi Palace and Meteor Garden 2018, Korean Hallyu still remains strong!  Do see below the list of Top 10 Korean TV Shows that are trending in Singapore this year!

  1. What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim
  2. Korean Odyssey
  3. My ID is Gangnam Beauty
  4. I Am Not A Robot
  5. Radio Romance
  6. Terius Behind Me
  7. 100 Days My Prince
  8. The Great Producer
  9. Hwayugi
  10. Suits

Looking at the list above, it looks like Korea’s romantic comedies are a hit this year! With the first place being What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim. The drama, which stars popular actor Park Seo Jun and Park Min Young, was actually based off a novel of the same name by Jung Kyung Hoon. The drama was even deemed as one of the highest rated Korean dramas in cable television history!

My personal favorite was My ID is Gangnam Beauty and I am not surprised it is at No. 3 on the list! The drama, starring Im Soo-hyangCha Eun-wooJo Woo-ri, and Kwak Dong-yeon was hilarious and such a fun drama to watch after a long day at school/work. The series is based on the webtoon of the same name published in 2016 by Naver Webtoon. Astro’s Cha Eun Woo definitely surprised me with his acting in this drama.

It is so interesting to see what the top grossing Korean dramas for this year are! 2018 is definitely a year filled with many good dramas that you should watch if you have not!

Do comment and let us know which of the 10 was your favorite! If your 2018 favorite is not on the list, do let us know which one!
